Eddie the Eagle
In the ski jumper biopic Eddie the Eagle, based on true events, a Taron Egerton coached by Hugh Jackman moults from underdog to audience favourite.
Eddie The Eagle Edwards is a name that Michael Edwards (Taron Egerton) has yet to earn. Although he can qualify for the Olympics on home soil in England as one of the best in his discipline, Edwards has not yet measured himself against other international greats. Nevertheless, a wish came true for him when he was allowed to go to the Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada, in 1988, the first Briton ever to do so. His coach Bronson Peary (Hugh Jackman) does everything in his power to encourage his pupil to give his best, but when the day of truth comes, it initially looks like a dark hour for Eddie the Eagle.
