“Abenteuer Weihnachten – Familie kann nie groß genug sein”: This Christmas film for ARD and ORF was shot in the Silberregion Karwendel in spring 2023. Mirjam Unger directs this enchanting and chaotic Christmas story about togetherness, emotions, values, truths, and miracles, based on a screenplay by Martin Rauhaus. A stellar ensemble gathers in front of Sebastian Thaler’s camera: Juergen Maurer, Sarah Bauerett, Maria Furtwängler, Dennenesch Zoudé, Leo Reisinger, Pegah Ferydoni, Manuel Rubey, Liam Noori, Salome Manyak, Elias Schneider, Luise Nolz, Lotta Herzog, Finjen Kiefer, and Inge Maux. The film will air on December 23, 2024, at 8:15 PM on ORF 1 and on December 24, 2024, at 8:15 PM on Das Erste!
Thomas Hroch / Mona Film Produktion: “There is no better location for a Christmas movie than Tyrol! With its snow-covered mountain panoramas and romantic alpine huts, the region offers the ideal backdrop for capturing the magic of Christmas. That’s why we knew right from the start that we wanted to shoot our movie “Adventure Christmas – Family Can Never Be Too Big” in Tyrol. In Vomperberg, for example, we found the perfect location in a small church – a scene straight out of a picture book. Apart from its fantastic natural world, Tyrol offers many other advantages. Whether in Zell am Ziller, Jenbach, Reith im Alpbachtal, or Pill – we received great support everywhere, from those responsible in institutions and communities, location providers, and the population. We always felt very welcome and found the collaboration to be very constructive. That’s not something to be taken for granted. So there are many good reasons to choose Tyrol as a filming location.”
“Your Christmas or Mine 2“: This romantic Christmas comedy was filmed in Hochsölden, on the Ötztal Glacier, and at Innsbruck Airport in spring 2023. Under the direction of Jim O’Hanlon and based on a screenplay by Tom Parry, cinematographer Stephen Pehrsson captured the star-studded cast in Tyrol: Asa Butterfield (known from Sex Education), Cora Kirk (known from Prey for the Devil), alongside Daniel Mays, Angela Griffin, Alex Jennings, David Bradley, and Jane Krakowski. This time, Christmas doesn’t take the two to each other’s parents’ homes but to a ski holiday in Tyrol – with their families in tow. The film is available anytime with a Prime Video streaming subscription! Here’s the trailer! There’s also a filming locations blog that offers more behind-the-scenes insights into the movie.
