Markus Zimmermann

How did you get into film? What particularly attracted you to become part of this industry?

As I’ve always spent a lot of time in the mountains doing sports and watched many freeski and freeride films, I was fascinated by how such films are made from an early age. That was the first point of contact. Initially, however, I was more interested in photographing such sports, as filming seemed more difficult due to a lack of training or equipment. My first video camera was still on tape and as I practiced, I shot ski videos and music videos. To get better, I decided to train at the „Werbe Design Academy“ in the media design branch, where I also worked as a trainer in video and motion design after graduating. The appeal of the industry is definitely the many opportunities to get to know new people and companies and to tell their very personal stories.

What distinguishes Tirol as a film region for you?

Tyrol has it all, from high alpine panoramas and dreamlike nature to fascinating companies and people. This offers a very broad spectrum of production opportunities. Another plus is the wealth of creative people with whom you can build up a very good network and work together.

We are curious: Tell us your favourite location in Tirol!

As a true Zillertal native, I naturally spend most of my time shooting here in the valley. In summer and winter, there are all kinds of locations and with years of experience as a local, you can always find a suitable place for shoots and productions of all kinds.

Leveltwentysix has been my company based in Zillertal for over 10 years now. Our field of activity ranges from image films, which of course have a lot to do with tourism, to the production of music videos, documentaries and content creation at home and abroad. Thanks to our small team, we are very flexible and uncomplicated to work with, which is a particular advantage for productions in alpine regions. Whether on the mountain or in a factory hall, we bring our know-how to bear everywhere. We not only offer complete productions from the script to the finished film, but can also be used as cameramen, editors, color graders or drone pilots. WE CREATE!
